Hiding geocaches in the woods can be fun. There are some protected woods. Placing a geocache in a protected woods might require a permit. This geocache is in the Veluwe National Park in the Netherlands. This place can be really busy on warmer days so we went there early morning on a cold day. We were lucky.

The location
The Veluwe National Park in the Netherlands. On the map it looked more like a park and grab until we arrived to the crossing. The road is there, just not open to the public. No parking? What to do? There is a small road (closed) on the opposite side so we just parked there. It is a National Park for a reason. Beautiful woods all around you. The geocache is nothing hard to find. In the woods usually you have the GPS running around so we were prepared to walk more than needed. At this location the GPS got us to the hiding spot immediately.

The geocache is right next to the road and a bicycle lane. Of course not too busy especially in the morning when we stopped by.
The hide
I am not sure what the purpose of this object in the woods. Maybe it is marking some utility lines underground. Or it might not be in use any longer. The concrete has a hole in the middle. The plastic bottle hangs there.
Similar objects we see all over the place in the Netherlands. Previously we visited Veluwe and we saw these at other places so it does not look out-of-place to muggles at all.
The woods
It is such a peaceful location in the woods. It is only a few meters from the highway so you can still hear the noises. As we walked towards the geocache the noises turned over to an early morning silence in the woods.
At the early time of the day it was not too hard to make a photo with no muggles on the picture at all. At of our earlier visits to Veluwe we saw how busy it can be on the bicycle routes all over the place. It is a very popular destination. At most entrances you can rent bikes to cycle around.
Only a few woods are left in the Netherlands. Or maybe there were never too many. Huge pert of the Netherlands once was sea.
It is so unusual. In early November there are still so many green leaves on the vegetation.
