Giving a good hint for a geocache is very helpful. When it comes to residential places it is even more helpful so geocachers can leave faster. I’m not always in the mood of talking to others. Or when you are in a hurry somewhere.
I have been, or can be if you click on a link and make a purchase, compensated via a cash payment, gift, or something else of value for writing this post. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I or my family use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
The geocache hiding behind
The location
The view from the geocache This geocache is hidden somewhere in the Netherlands. It is in the front yard of a house or more of a farm-house. Of course the Dutch version so it looks like a house but the closest neighbor is far away. See the woods above on the picture? That is where the closest neighbor lives to one side. I know there are countries where it is more crowded but in the Netherlands that is far away. In this area there are not too many geocaches so I did not intentionally go to this area for the geocaches. We usually pick locations where within a few kilometres we can find many geocaches. This time I had something else to do in the area so I just could not resist and checked what’s to find around me.
The search
It was around dinner time and the sun was about to go down. The view to the other side from the geocacheI found another geocache just around the corner from this location. We arrived to this location with my daughter. She is the one that sometimes joins me but then sits in the car therefore not much of a help. There are other times she is just standing around and spots the geocache in a split second. This time she decided to stay in the car. She does not like places close to houses. Of course the GPS took me left and right. Then I decided to start looking all over the places. There was no one at home it was dark in the house so I had all the time to look. The description was clear no need to enter the private property to find it. But where is that starting? No clear border line or a fence. Stepping left and right and I just spotted something not really fitting in there. Yep, it was covering up the geocache. The geocache hiding behind Sometimes I wonder why do people place or let others place a geocache just in their front yard or in front of their house. Then when you meet other geocachers who did it they’ll tell all the good stories that happened. They enjoy talking to others with the same hobby.
The hide
When it comes to the geocache container there are endless possibilities. One common is the petling or PET preform. They are strong. When the good cap is used they are water-resistant. They are available in all different colors and shapes. The caps can be from any sodas you buy. I put aside any good color caps when I drink a soda. I never really know which will be the one I need at my next hide. The geocache hiding behind, down in the corner on the picture

For this hide all that was needed a crack in the ground (find one it is just your time needed as a cost)
A piece of a wood that folds in a bit.
Some petling, PET preform
Logbook
I prefer the DIY style so I make logbook myself. If you have a huge amount of geocaches to maintain it might be easier to find a supplier and get them online.Geocache hidden behind something that used to be a tree
