In the morning after leaving from the hotel on the way to some event we stopped to search for some geocaches with high favourite point count. This was one of them along the way. Along a long road with not many places to park so we parked where maybe we should not. We were not caught so it was fine.

The location
This geocache is in the Netherlands. It is not far from the Veluwe National Park. The area preserved really nicely.
Along the roads in the area you see a fence so it keeps the wildlife away from the roads. The Netherlands is not a huge country. There are really crowded areas. They uses areas that have usable soil for agriculture mostly. That leaves us with only some areas to have some wildlife. If you have the time or cycle in the area you can spot some wild animals. We did not see anything so I did not take pictures of that.
The search
It was still early morning on a cold Saturday. I did not have to wait long to take a picture with minimal traffic on the road. We did not see any bicycles passing by on the bicycle lane either.
There are many geocaches along a longer bicycle route which is about 16 km. We did not bring our foldable bikes so we decided we’ll try to find one or two. As the designated parking location was a bit away we risked a fine and just pulled off and parked in front of the gate.
The hint was trivial and pointed at the gate. On gates in the Netherlands we mostly found a nano or petling. This time it was a lot bigger container. I planned to leave a trackable behind but then I realised I forgot it at home. “Jammer” – as the Dutch would say.
Take a careful look at the gate. On purpose it is set to be in an angle. That makes sure you cannot leave accidentally open as a result that wildlife is safe inside.
