Geocaches along the highways are mostly park and grabs. This geocache was also no exception. Resting areas along the highways in Hungary are having limited places to place a geocache as a result that after finding a few of them you’ll know exactly where to search. We were on the way to the airport and had lots of extra time because we left early.
I have been, or can be if you click on a link and make a purchase, compensated via a cash payment, gift, or something else of value for writing this post. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I or my family use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

The location
This geocache is placed at one of the rest areas on the M6 highway in Hungary. Nothing special most if not all of the rest areas have a geocache in Hungary. These geocaches give a good reason to stop. The ones southbound we found all on a single trip. This is on the northbound side of the highway. It is a good reason to stop at rest areas especially on longer trips.

As I was walking towards the coordinates and saw this above I already had a few bets. It could be on the sing, up in the pipe. Or it could be on the guard rail with a magnet. It was fun that it was neither at any of my bets.

On this trip we had that darker color rental from the airport. With some of the rental cars you do not want to go geocaching. Why? Some are just does not meet your comfort. There are a few brands if that is what they try to get me I pay for an upgrade to avoid them. This one was a VW so it was up to my standards.

The search
I was thinking long how to write it long. I could not come up with any long version on this search. It was a park, walk a few steps, look up, not there, look down and there you go, found it. In many European countries petlings or PET preforms are really popular and common hides. If there was a new size introduced it could be a petling size.

I took another photo from a few steps away to show you how hard it is to spot the geocache. It is in the middle of the photo. As a muggle I’m not sure you would even spot it.

Logbook
I prefer the DIY style so I make logbook myself. If you have a huge amount of geocaches to maintain it might be easier to find a supplier and get them online.
