January is on of my favorite month. I was born in January so it is always something great happens. In Hungary we also had a great chance to have some snow. I’m not really a winter sport fan, but I enjoy driving in snow. In 2018 my wife picked snowman as the theme for January.
I have been, or can be if you click on a link and make a purchase, compensated via a cash payment, gift, or something else of value for writing this post. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I or my family use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
What is so fun about January? Let me put a list together quickly:
- The busy holidays are over. Not sure about how it goes in your family but here it can be crazy. First of all my wife can cook. Yes, she can cook really good. She can bake. She can bake really good. As a result she cooks and bakes for a small army. Guess what happens when she cooks? Yes, she can use some help so I help here. Yeah, I love the fall offs from all the food. I love the edges of the cakes, cookies. Cooking and baking a lot is tiring.
- A year is over. I work at a company where we have to work super hard at the last days of the year so after Christmas I head with a colleague to a warehouse and spend countless hours there. January is one of the most relaxed months at my work.
- Our family is not rich as a result we try to spend less. Oh, I’m almost sure you read this wrong so let me make it straight. We are one of the richest family on this planet. We have each others, and all the love we can get from our kids parents and I still have a grandmother. Right, money is what we do not have much so we try to use it to our best knowledge. January is the month to do shopping. Most stores are trying to get rid of the products that won’t sell next year. They give sometimes even better discounts than on the Black Friday Sales. And the best in shopping in January is that there are no lines. Most people overspent the last few months so the stores are like deserted.
Usually this is my week. Yes, my birthday is this week.
Materials and tools used on the above pages
Here below is a list of online available tools, pens, pencils we use ourselves.
They come in different colors and the same goes to picking them as for color pencils. The more colors the better.
Color pencil sets from Faber-Castell
We found these pencils really good quality and we highly recommend them. The more colors you have the easier you color your pages.
Sakura Pigment Liner Micron pens
Sakura pens are top quality and really easy to work with. You find these pens in all different colors and sizes. A few colors and some different sizes from the blacks will help you with all your drawings.
Staedtler Pigment Liners
Another alternative to the Sakura Pigment Liners is from Staedtler. My wife found these the same quality so she is recommending them as well.
